Tip Top Kite Day held on Sunday 31st January 2010 as part of
the Summertimes Festival was a fabulous day, with lots of people
coming along and flying their kites. The day began with a gentle
sou'wester, then just before 1 o'clock turned to a perfect steady
easterly, enabling lots of kites to go up and sit until the tide
came in and pushed us off the beach. Thank you to all who came
to fly kites, fill up the sky and the beach and make this such
a fantastic day.
The KiteShop and Peter Lynn teams were there, as well as Robert
Brasington from Tasmania with his beautiful trains and delta kites.
The City Council team did a fantastic job organising the day and
making sure everyone had a happy day.
Tip Top, the sponsors, were there, too, with their ice-cream
cart on the beach doing a roaring trade.
